The Taster Courses are on-campus opportunities for students in Year 11 and 12 to experience a day at the RVC. These taster courses are facilitated by the University of London and usually take place in the Summer Term. The RVC currently offers two Taster Courses:

Veterinary Nursing Taster Course

Date: 29th May 2024

Time: 10:00 – 15:30

Location: Hawkshead Lane, Brookmans Park, Hatfield, AL9 7TA

This one-day introduction to Veterinary Nursing takes place at the RVC’s Hertfordshire Campus and is designed to provide students with the opportunity to experience life as a veterinary nursing student at the Royal Veterinary College. The course will consist of several elements designed to give an overview of what it is like to study to become a Veterinary Nurse at the RVC; including a tour of the Hawkshead campus, tours of the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals (Europe’s largest referral veterinary hospital). There will be insightful lectures delivered by RVC experts to learn more about our Veterinary Nursing course and opportunities to get a feel for day-to-day life from Student Ambassadors. In order to apply for this programme, you must be on-track to meet the course-specific entry requirements.

Biological Sciences Taster Course

Location: 4 Royal College Street, London, NW1 0TU

This one-day introduction to Biological Sciences takes place at the RVC’s Camden Campus and is designed to provide students with the opportunity to experience life as a Biological Scientist student at the Royal Veterinary College. The course will consist of several elements designed to give an overview of what it is like to study to become a Biological Scientist at the RVC; including a tour of the Camden campus, and spending time in our university labs. There will be insightful lectures delivered by RVC experts to learn more about our Biological Sciences courses and opportunities to get a feel for day-to-day life from Student Ambassadors. In order to apply for this programme, you must be on-track to meet the course-specific entry requirements.
