This area of research at the RVC which has developed into a strong translational programme

The development of the dog colony, characterising the model and attracting funding from industry and charities has made the most of this unique resource. This uses expertise from the Structure and Motion Laboratory, cardiologists and animal behaviourists to fully characterise the phenotype of this model, and devise novel approaches to assessing response to treatment.
