Afternoon Anatomy at the RVC is a unique opportunity for Year 10–12 pupils who are considering studying Biological Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, or Veterinary Nursing at universityHeld at our Camden Campus in London, this session focuses on comparative physiology in the animal kingdom through a series of engaging, hands-on activities. We begin the day with an introductory talk, followed by:

• A Directed Learning session based on a simulated disease outbreak, inspired by real content from our Biological Sciences course.

• An interactive quiz using real animal specimens in our impressive Anatomy Museum, led by our Head of Anatomy, Mr Andrew Crook MBE.

• A chance to explore animal physiology in context during a live animal experience led by our Anatomy Team.

To be eligible to apply for Afternoon Anatomy, students must attend a non-selective state school and meet Widening Participation criteria — such as being eligible for Free School Meals, being the first in their family to attend university, or living in an area with low progression to higher education.

Important: Animal welfare is paramount at RVC, thus if our live animals or any of our activities are not available an alternative activity is provided.

*The RVC is dedicated to being an organisation in which equity, diversity and inclusion underpin all that we do. Eligibility for this event is targeted to support under-represented individuals, as we believe students from every background should be able to access advice, guidance and support in order to help them progress to and benefit from the transformative experience of higher education. For more information on our commitment to improve equality of opportunity for under-represented groups please read our Access & Participation Plan (APP).
