We’re delighted to offer the following scholarships for students on undergraduate programmes at the RVC, kindly funded by philanthropic funds given to the RVC and the RVC’s charity, the Animal Care Trust.

• The Linkou Scholarships - two £5,000 scholarships for students on the BVetMed course. There will be two new awardees each year with each recipient receiving £5,000 a year for each year of their course. One awardee will have completed the Gateway course.
• The Catt Scholarship – one £5,000 scholarship for a student on a Veterinary Nursing degree.  There will be one new awardee each year, receiving £5,000 a year for each year of their course.
• The Rufus of Ruskinmere Sciences Scholarship - one £5,000 scholarship for a student on one of the BSc Bioscience courses.  There will be one new awardee each year, receiving £5,000 a year for each year of their course.
• The Rufus of Ruskinmere Scholarship for Mature Students - one £5,000 scholarship for a student on any of our undergraduate programmes, who is over 25, has not studied in Higher Education before and has been out of education for 5 years.
• The Sylvanus Scholarships – two £3,000 scholarships for students on the Gateway course. There will be two new awardees each year with each recipient receiving £3,000 for the year of their course.
• The University of London Scholarships – two £5,000 scholarships for students on any undergraduate course for three years. Candidates must be from an ethnic minority and live within the Greater London area (within the M25).
• The RVC Sciences Scholarship –one £5,000 scholarship for a student on one of the BSc Bioscience courses.  There will be one new awardee each year, receiving £5,000 a year for each year of their course

For courses which include an interview process, interview scores will be part of the selection process. Where interviews do not take place, eligible individuals will be asked to apply answering a number of questions about their ambitions.

To ensure we provide support to offer holders from underrepresented backgrounds, we use contextual information as a part of the awarding process. The following information is considered:

• Whether the applicant is from a low participation neighbourhood, using HEFCE POLAR 4 and Index of Multiple Deprivation data
• Whether the applicant is a care leaver (this must have been declared on the UCAS application to be considered)
• Whether the applicant has received Free School Meals (this must have been declared on the UCAS application to be considered)
• Whether the applicant is a refugee (this must have been declared on the UCAS application to be considered)
• Whether the applicant has a disability (this must have been declared on the UCAS application to be considered)
• Whether the applicant is the first in their family to attend Higher Education, not including siblings  (this must have been declared on the UCAS application to be considered)
• Whether the applicant has attended a school/college at level 2 and at level 3 that the RVC has determined is a contextual school.

Priority is given to those meeting multiple contextual markers.

For all courses except BSc, scholarships will be offered alongside offers for places. For the BSc, selected individuals will be asked to apply when they are offered places.
