In most cases, it will only take 48 hours for your order to be processed but it might be a little longer for items that are not in stock and have to be ordered in.
If you have not received confirmation that your medication is ready to be collected within 2 working days, please contact us to check.
Please note that the practice may only dispense medication if there is an active prescription / authorisation from the veterinary surgeon on your pet’s file.
For flea, tick, worm and mite products (parasiticides), this authorisation is created at the annual health check / vaccination appointment, and lasts for 12 months. If you would like your pet to have a flea/worm authorisation at any other vet appointment, please let your vet know during the appointment and they will be happy to oblige. For other prescription medications your pet must have been examined and the repeat prescription authorised within the last six months (for some unstable conditions your vet may request a shorter recheck period).
Once it’s ready, you can collect your order from us. It really couldn’t be easier!
We are also able to issue written prescriptions to allow you to purchase your pet's medication online or from other veterinary practices. Please allow 48 hours for this prescription to be created, we will let you know once it is ready. Once we receive payment for your prescription we are able to send this directly to your pharmacy of choice. You can find the cost of a written prescription on our price list here
Unused medication should not be thrown into the bin or poured down the sink or toilet at home, as this can damage the environment and contribute to antibiotic resistance. Please return any unused veterinary medication prescribed by Beaumont Sainsbury Animal Hospital to us at your next routine visit. The Beaumont Sainsbury Animal Hospital covers the cost of this medicine disposal service. Please note that strict regulations mean that returned medication can never be resold or reused once it has left the practice. We are therefore unable to refund the cost of unused or unwanted medication.
