Students
Kickstart – Get ready for the year ahead with Kickstart our pre-arrival online induction. Our online course will help you think about the mix of different learning activities - whether small group, digital or independent - and how you can become part of our unique RVC community. We’ll be learning more about how to maintain your wellbeing as you get used to everything university has to offer. For new students you’ll receive an email with a link to KickStart in early September. For returning students you can access Kickstart on LEARN anytime.
5 Ways to BE Well induction – Join us for 6 jam-packed weeks of fun events to introduce you to students, staff and our RVC community. We have virtual and on-campus activities designed to make you feel at home. During 5 Ways to BE well you will have a chance to:

- Learn more about our RVC community
- Find out more about what’s on offer to make your year a success!

Study Skills team – Studying at university is different and you may find that you will need to adapt some of your study routines. The Study skills team is here to help. They work with your course team to help your prepare for assessments, organise your time and make the best use of recordings and revision sessions. Find out more on LEARN here.
Student Success Coaches – You’ll be contacted by our Student Success Coaches by text or phone to see how you are getting on. They can help you find ways to be successful with your studies and also direct you to other members of our Student Support teams if needed.
Digital Learning Champions – Need to brush up on using OneNote? Looking at how you can keep you laptop in tip-top shape? The Digital Learning Champions can help. Find out who is the Digital learning champion for your year here.
Student Hub on LEARN online – Our Student Support online area on LEARN is a one-stop shop for all of student support teams. For all our teams you can find a wealth of online resources, schedule of events a quick links to book appointments.

Staff
The following resources and staff development events in our Staff Hub on LEARN are here to support staff.
Learning and Teaching Toolkit - The toolkit contains resources on blended learning; an induction and refreshers for all who teach at the RVC; ways to support refreshing how you design your teaching and go about making changes (small or large) to strands or modules. You’ll also find out about our peer review scheme and how to enhance the accessibility of all teaching materials. In each section we’ve highlighted key resources and polices for easy access.
Assessment Toolkit - The toolkit contains resources about GenAI to help staff to think about it can be used to enhance teaching and the student learning experience in a way that benefits both students and staff. It includes ways to redesign current assessments with responsible AI use as well as guidance about how to discuss AI use with students. It also includes the course for e-DOPS Assessors.
Supporting Students Toolkit – A wide range of guides, policies, processes and resources to support tutorials including our Student Performance and Development System and Disability resources
Staff Development events – Join us online for INSET days and other staff development events throughout the year. Recordings are available if you miss an event.
