We offer the following opportunities for students from Widening Participation backgrounds in Years 10-12:

Easter School (Year 10)

Date: Tuesday 14th - Wednesday 15th April 2020 (non-residential)
Location: RVC Camden Campus & RVC Hawkshead Campus 
Year Group: Year 10 
Capacity: 20 pupils

Eligibility: To participate in this activity your school must be a state school and you must meet a number of other Widening Participation criteria. For more information and additional criteria, please read our Widening Participation eligibility criteria.

This two-day, non-residential Easter School takes place at our Camden and Hawkshead campuses for students currently in Year 10 (2019/20).

You will meet peers who are also aspiring vets, vet nurses and scientists, and reflect on your own career goals and how to achieve them. Practically, you can take part in fun activities at our Anatomy Museum, Animal Hospital and laboratories which are actually used by students at the RVC.

Please note, the following expenses are covered: Food and drinks, transport between the two campuses, all equipment and activities.

Sutton Trust Summer School (Year 12)

Date: Monday 17 - Friday 21 August (Residential) 
Location: RVC Hawkshead and Camden Campuses 
Year Group: Year 12 
Capacity: 50 pupils

Eligibility: To participate in this activity your school must be a non-selective state school. You are more likely to be offered a place if you meet additional Widening Participation criteria. For more information, please visit the Sutton Trust website

The RVC Sutton Trust Summer School gives students a real experience of university life through living at the Royal Veterinary College’s Hawkshead Campus for a week during the school holidays. Take part in lectures, hands-on practicals at our farm and animal hospitals, fun evening activities and even a veterinary themed science fair!  Meet RVC students and professionals who work in a range of veterinary and biological sciences pathways, and build friendships with other young people interested in animal careers.

The cost of transport, food and activities will be covered by the RVC and the Sutton Trust.
