Following government and updated RCVS guidelines we are currently open for emergencies, urgent veterinary care and work that is essential for animal health and welfare during this extended time period of Covid-19 government restrictions. As with any public health concern, we need to minimise its impact and reduce the possibility of exposure in appropriate ways within our hospitals, each case will be assessed over the phone to ascertain if it can be seen at this time or should be delayed in the interest of public health and social distancing without unreasonable compromise to animal health and welfare.
We might NOT be able to accept certain emergency referrals depending on our own staffing levels and capacity. Please speak to our Emergency Team if you have an emergency case. Please advise your clients that they should NOT come to the hospital if they are self-isolating or have symptoms of COVID-19. and to seek an alternative party to bring your animal to us.
We ask that only one person accompanies the animal to the visit. Clients will call our hospital reception on arrival and then wait in their car, the consultation with proceed by telephone and we will collect the animal from the car for examination.
Clients are not allowed to enter the hospital.
Vets can refer cases by phone or via the online Referral Form, though for urgent and emergency cases please phone.
Our Emergency Referrals Service is in operation 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and is staffed by a large team of vets and specialist nurses, who provide acute care.

You can also make a scheduled (non-emergency) referral by submitting a Standard Form. Once the completed form has been received we will make the appointment directly with the client and email the referring vets the details.

Referring vets are kept up-to-date with case progress by phone as required and on discharge a detailed case report will be provided. Hospitalised patients are continuously monitored and any changes are discussed with clients daily.
