ACT Equine Christmas Appeal 2025
You’ve helped transform so many lives, will you help us do even more this Christmas?
Thanks to your generosity, 2025 has been a remarkable year at the RVC Equine Referral Hospital. From pioneering surgical techniques to faster diagnoses and safer treatments, your support has helped us deliver world-class care to horses and donkeys in urgent need. Because of your support, Star, Albert, Angel, and many other horses and donkeys are not just surviving, they’re thriving.

Meet the stars of your generosity
Star is shining again
Eight-year-old Star developed a painful and distressing condition called trigeminal nerve-mediated headshaking. Her future looked uncertain. But thanks to the electroacupuncture machine you helped fund, Star received the specialist treatment she needed, and made a remarkable recovery. Today, she’s back enjoying cross-country and show jumping.
Albert found his strength again
After being rescued in poor condition, Albert the donkey developed a tumour on his leg. Using a donor-funded tumour specific electroporation device, our team removed the cancer without damaging the fragile joint beneath. Albert has made a full recovery and now enjoys life with his donkey companion, Cedric.
A new life for Connie and Pearl
The iSperm Smart Semen Analyser, another piece of equipment funded by our supporters, is helping us assess stallion fertility quickly and accurately in the field. Thanks to this technology, Connie the mare conceived on her first attempt. Her foal, Pearl, was born healthy and happy this spring.
Angel takes flight again
When Angel suffered severe nosebleeds, her owners feared the worst. Thanks to the harmonic scalpel you helped fund, surgeons were able to seal the affected artery and treat the infection safely. Now Angel is back at home, fully recovered.
