Sarah is a Senior Teaching Fellow and the Course Director for the undergraduate veterinary nursing programs at the RVC.

Sarah qualified from The Royal Veterinary College, Middlesex University and The College of Animal Welfare in 2011 with a 1st class honours in Veterinary Nursing. Her dissertation was on the then imminent regulation of veterinary nurses. Following graduation, she worked in first opinion practice before accepting a role at the Royal Veterinary College’s Queen Mother Hospital for Animals working as a surgery ward nurse. During her time at the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals, she also worked in the neurology ward, was a clinical coach and was the student coordinator for this area.

In 2016 Sarah relocated to Australia and worked at Melbourne University Veterinary Teaching Hospital (UVet) and then at Perth Veterinary Specialist as the Surgery and Neurology Coordinator. Whilst also in Australia, Sarah worked in a range of veterinary nursing roles at Sydney University Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Small Animal Specialist Hospital Australia (SASH Vets) and first opinion practices. Sarah has also seen practice in America and worked with wildlife in South Africa.

On her return from Australia, Sarah moved into education, first lecturing at Middlesex University and the College of Animal Welfare, followed by The Royal Veterinary College.

She has a Masters in Veterinary Education, in which she researched the perceptions of veterinary, veterinary nursing and Bioscience students for reflection within education.

Sarah is the Course Director for the RVC's suite of undergraduate qualifications for Veterinary Nurses: The BSc and Foundation degrees in Veterinary Nursing. She oversees the teaching and learning activities for these blended courses. She is Year 3 and 4 leader and Module Leader for the third-year modules: The professional Veterinary Nurse and Academic and Professional Development 3 and the Final Year Project Lead in the fourth year.  These modules relate closely to Sarah’s area of interest for the advancement of the veterinary nursing profession, veterinary education and auditing and research. Sarah is also a member of the Interprofessional Education Team at the Royal Veterinary College.
