She undertook placements at numerous equine veterinary hospitals and volunteered at events such as the Royal Windsor Horse Show. Following graduated Jess worked in a well-equipped first opinion practice in West Yorkshire where she gained a wide range of experience in equine emergencies, medical work ups and minor surgical procedures such as sequestrum debridement, sinus trephination and mass removal. 18 months after graduation Jess decided to take the next steps in advancing her career and spent a year working at the University of Liverpool Leahurst Equine Hospital. During this time she rotated through medicine and surgery services, working under the guidance of specialists to assist with referral cases whilst being responsible for inpatient care and student teaching. Jess joined the RVC Equine team in February 2021 and is enjoying the variety of triumphs and challenges each day brings with life of the road as an ambulatory vet. She has undertaken CPD in a number of areas but is particularly interested in infectious disease, gastointestinal medicine and stud medicine.
