English Language Proficiency
You must be able to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
If English is not your first language you must take an IELTS-Academic test (from the British Council). You need to achieve an overall score of 7.0 with a minimum of 6.5 in each sub-test. (Please note, Clinical Training Internship positions will require an overall score of 7.5 with a minimum of 7 in each sub-test). The test result must have been obtained within 2 years of the start-date of the course.
UNLESS
- You have gained one of the following qualifications, which we accept as an equivalent of the IELTS-Academic test:

This must have been obtained within 2 years of the start-date of the course.
- You have completed a recent qualification (NQF level 6 or above) equivalent to a UK degree in a country listed as exempt by the UKVI within the two years prior to the proposed date of enrolment.
- You have relevant work experience (minimum eighteen months) conducted in English in a majority English speaking country/institute and undertaken no more than two years prior to the proposed date of enrolment. This will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and may require an additional English reference. Please note: This is not applicable if you are applying for a Clinical Training Internship).
