Department: Clinical Science and Services

Lyn trained and qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1992 whilst working for the PDSA. She continued to work in the charity sector for a further 5 years before moving to private practice. In 1998 she followed her interest in emergency medicine and moved to Kent to assist in the launch of the first out-of-hours emergency service in England. Whilst working here she gained her Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing (medical).

She moved in to referral nursing as head nurse at an orthopaedic referral practice in Yorkshire, and ultimately returned to work in emergency and critical care nursing at the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals at the RVC, where she was a dedicated ECC nurse for 12 years. In addition to her nursing role Lyn obtained her Post Graduate Certificate in Veterinary Education, and became the ECC Clinical Educator in 2017, teaching on the Foundation and BSc Veterinary Nursing degrees, in addition to being the module leader for the ECC module of the Graduate Diploma in Professional and Clinical Veterinary Nursing.

She is currently a Teaching Fellow and Deputy Co-course director for the Graduate Certificate and Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Nursing, and module leader for the ECC module of the FdSc VN course.
