 MATCHED
 FUNDING
Donations from Alumni are often used to support students’ own fundraising activities for their clubs and societies. This is done though a matched funding scheme. Here’s just a snapshot of student events we have been able to support this year...
TRUSTY PAWS
Trusty Paws is a charity run by vet students in both London and Glasgow. One afternoon a month they hold a clinic where the dogs of homeless and vulnerably-housed people can receive free preventative health care. This includes vaccinations, worming and flea treatments and a health check. The students are supervised by a vet who volunteers their time and expertise to help at the clinic. Trusty Paws is a fantastic opportunity for students in their fourth and final years to practise skills they will need throughout their careers whilst helping both the dogs and their owners.
The Alumni Fund has match funded some of their fundraising events, including a jailbreak, where two groups of students disguised as penguins travelled to Glasgow without any money, as well as the first Hawkshead Hobble, kindly

organised by the RVC Tri Club. This support helped them to purchase much needed new equipment for the clinics such as an ophthalmoscope.
RVC TRIATHLON
CLUB SUCCESS!
The Hawkshead Hobble was set up by two students from the Triathlon Club, Ben Smith and Seth Kennard. This year’s event saw 71 runners from the RVC and local running clubs complete the 5km and 10km courses and receive a cow bell at the finish line! The event raised money for Trusty Paws and the Club, and was match funded.
As well as an important fundraising opportunity the Hawkshead Hobble is also a chance to celebrate the beautiful countryside around campus that can often go unnoticed. It’s also brilliant to have the opportunity for students to compete with staff and athletes from
