Veterinary Internal Medicine

Veterinary Internal Medicine

Our Internal Medicine Team is without a doubt at the forefront of veterinary medicine worldwide. We have the biggest internist team in Europe, are research-active and can offer speciality as well as sub-speciality expertise  for all our referrals.

Service information

Uniquely, every single ill pet’s case is discussed in great detail during medical rounds held by the entire team every single day. This means that each pet is effectively being treated by a team of internal medicine specialists and specialists-in-training. Our philosophy: several heads are better than one! All patients benefit from our caring attitude, as well as the very latest understanding of disease processes and any new treatments.

Special interests

We are able to see any animal with any disease. Since we have internationally-recognised leaders in veterinary endocrinology, gastroenterology, immunology, haematology, genetics and nephrology/urology within our service, we also offer sub-speciality clinics, including:

A Nephrology and Urology Clinic (including the option of dialysis, non-invasive cystoscopy and laser lithotripsy for urinary stones, ectopic ureters and other conditions).

An Endocrinology Clinic, which includes:

The Hypophysectomy Clinic for the treatment of acromegaly in cats and Cushing’s in dogs and cats

The Feline Diabetic Remission Clinic and Difficult Diabetic Clinic (cats and dogs)

Radioactive Iodine Treatment Clinic for hyperthyroid cats

A Complicated Cushing’s Clinic for dogs and cats whose Cushing’s proves difficult to diagnose or treat.

An Immune-Mediated Disease Clinic for the investigation of diseases caused by a malfunctioning of the immune system (which can present as fever of unknown origin, joint or neck pain, anaemia, jaundice, among other presentations).

Chronic Vomiting and Diarrhoea Clinic, investigating dogs and cats suffering from protracted loose stools or vomiting, which also benefits from our state-of-the-art endoscopy suite.

Haematology Clinic, investigating blood abnormalities.

As a global leader we offer treatments available at few other veterinary centres in the world
