        ACCREDITATION

Our Biological Science programmes are accredited by the Royal Society
of Biology, with our MSci and placement year options gaining Advanced
Accreditation. This recognition of excellence is highly regarded by
employers and demonstrates our ability to develop your skills and expertise
throughout your course. Not only does this mean you will gain an in-depth
understanding of the subject, but that you will also have the opportunity to
contribute to advancements in science through research projects.

        BSc or MSci?

A BSc qualification is studied over three years, or four years (when
studied with a Placement Year), where you will graduate with a Bachelor
of Science degree. This is considered a typical undergraduate degree.
A BSc may be the best choice for you if you want to keep your career
and education options open after you graduate.

An MSci qualification is studied over four or five years (when studied with
a Placement Year), where you will spend an additional year completing
the learning outcomes of a master’s degree. The additional year will also
allow you to work on an in-depth research project. An MSci may be the
best choice for you if you are looking to gain deeper knowledge of the
subject, and open up further career opportunities in the future due to the
additional investment in your skills. If you choose to study a BSc, you can
still apply for a postgraduate master’s degree (MSc or MRes).

Our MSci courses hold Advanced Degree Accreditation by the Royal
Society of Biology, highlighting its potential to educate the life science
leaders and innovators of the future.
