Welcome to

       Paws & Hooves

Welcome to the Autumn 2025 edition of Paws & Hooves. As we
approach the end of another remarkable year, we’re filled with
gratitude for everything your support has made possible. From
supporting life-saving surgeries to student scholarships, your
generosity continues to change lives – both animal and human.
This year marks a significant milestone – 20 years of the RVC’s
pioneering Cardiothoracic Service. The RVC remains the only
veterinary centre in Europe – and one of just a few worldwide
       – performing open-heart surgery on dogs. With your help, this
ground-breaking team now performs up to two surgeries each
week, offering a vital lifeline to dogs who would otherwise go
untreated. On page six, you’ll meet one of these special patients,
Theia, and see the life-changing impact your support has made.

Your generosity has also helped our Memory Tree flourish. Nestled
within the RVC Small Animal Referral Hospital, this beautiful tribute Autumn
has now raised over £100,000 since its first leaf seven years ago –
funds that directly support the care of animals in need. Each leaf
receive critical treatment. If you’d like to celebrate the memory of Raffle
