As the largest service in Europe with an outstanding international reputation, we provide soft tissue surgery for a range of conditions in dogs and cats. Our veterinary specialist surgeons at the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals have expertise across many sub-specialities as well as across all aspects of pet surgery. 

Service information

We have specialists in reconstructive, cosmetic, genitourinary, gastrointestinal, recto-anal, cardiothoracic, ENT and minimally invasive surgery. Our veterinary surgeons also have expertise in the management of congenital portosystemic shunts and open heart surgical repair of congenital and acquired cardiac diseases.For further information about cardiac surgery please click here. Work with other specialist teams

We work closely with the Oncology Service to provide surgery for dogs and cats with cancer, and our team is integrated with the Emergency and Critical Care Service to support patients needing intensive care before and after surgery. In collaboration with the Diagnostic Imaging Service, we offer a variety of interventional radiology procedures, including placement of ureteral, tracheal and urethral stents.

 

The RVC has a dedicated Dental Suite for small animals at the Beaumont Sainsbury Animal Hospital in Camden, where dogs, cats and other small animal patients can have dental surgery and investigations.
