The RVC has a long history of welcoming international students, in fact, our founding principal was a Frenchman. Since our establishment in 1791, we've seen many generations of students pass through our doors, and believe that the outstanding quality of our two campuses is a major factor in our students’ success and happiness.

With one campus right in the centre of London, and one located in the Hertfordshire countryside, the RVC is perfectly placed to deliver on everything that student life has to offer. We offer a range of courses from full-time taught and research degree programmes to short courses, all of which are suitable for international students and are recognised around the world.

As the RVC is the top university in England for veterinary research, our qualifications are recognised globally. And the same global reach exists for our clinical degrees. The RVC was the first veterinary school in the world to achieve full accreditation by the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE) and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and full recognition by the UK's Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), as well as a reciprocal arrangement between the RCVS and the Australasian Veterinary Boards Council Inc (AVBC). The RVC currently holds full accreditation from RCVS, AVBC and AVMA and conditional from EAEVE. Furthermore, the RVC is accredited by the Society of Biology. This status is recognised throughout the world and qualifies our clinical graduates to practice in Europe, North America and other many Asian and African countries as well as Australia and New Zealand - a real advantage for those looking to develop an international career.

While we are proud of our internationally recognised academic standards, we also know that student life is about more than just study. In fact, to get the most out of your time with us, you’ll want to throw yourself into everything that’s on offer in London and beyond!  London is the most exciting and multicultural city in the world and is home to over 100,000 international students—so you will never get bored and will always be able to find that little bit of home, if you need it!

Whether you are coming from Europe, North America, Asia or beyond, at the RVC you will find a close and supportive environment. Our friendly staff and students will help you adjust to your new city from the moment you arrive and be there for you until the day you complete your studies, graduate and then become your alumni family once you have that hard earned degree in your hand.

We really do look forward to welcoming you to the RVC.

RVC INSIDERS

Zoe Patterson, BVetMed student

International education is an experience that will last a lifetime.

I came to the RVC with two suitcases, a carry on, and a dream of becoming a veterinarian. As a current student here I am not only learning the skills and knowledge needed to become an excellent veterinarian but am seeing new cultures, meeting new people, and getting an insight into a world which I had not experienced before. Being an international student at the RVC has been very rewarding for me so far. The friendships I am making and the knowledge I am gaining, and ultimately my degree in Veterinary Medicine, will not weigh down my luggage, but travel with me in my mind and heart forever.
