the sciences, as well as getting to do my own research project on the structure of bones in just the first term.
"The scholarship has helped me
buy resources and put towards my accommodation without having to have several jobs and work long hours, something that would have been impossible for me. Another benefit of the scholarship is that it gives me the opportunity to undertake a placement without the worry that I need to earn money. I would like to personally thank everyone who was involved in giving me this opportunity, it has helped me immensely throughout the year and
I’m not sure what I would have done without it!”

SUPPORTING THE RVC
  FREE WILL-WRITING SERVICE
In 2020, the RVC started working with Farewill, an
online will writing provider, and this has enabled us to
provide those who would like to leave the RVC a gift in
their will the opportunity to write their will online, free of charge.
Farewill launched in 2015 and has since become the largest provider of will writing services in the UK, even winning the National Will Writing Firm of the Year 2019, at the British Wills and Probate Awards. Their easy online service means customers can draft their wills from home in their own time with Farewill experts on hand to advise if needed. The whole process can take as little as 15 minutes. For those less confident online, you can also arrange your will over the phone with a Farewill adviser.
For more information about Farewill, please visit their website at www. farewill.com or you can call them on 020 3318 8647 (seven days a week). If you would like to take us up on our offer
of a free will, please call us on 01707 666237 or email act@rvc.ac.uk and we will send you the information you need.
   AMAZON SMILE
Did you know Amazon Smile has already raised more than £10,000 for the RVC’s charity the Animal Care
through Amazon Smile (smile.amazon.co.uk). This is the same Amazon you know – same products, same prices, same service, but once you have selected RVC Animal Care Trust we will receive 0.5% of the price of your eligible purchases as a donation. No data is shared with us, we just receive a donation from Amazon Smile every month or so. Happy shopping and thank you for your support!

 Meet Pint and Half-Pint!
The ACT recently funded, predominantly from alumni,
a new calving simulator to facilitate the teaching of calving and other bovine skills. There are multiple uses for this simulator, as it comes with multiple uteruses and a very life-like (and very heavy) calf! The simulator
will mean calving can be taught in a hands-on manner as
well as rectal palpation prior to students practising on live animals. The model also has a functional udder with distinct, independent quarters, which can be used for teaching mastitis investigations.
The simulator will also be used for CPD, summer schools and open days such as Open Farm Sunday, which attracts great community engagement and will enable the general public to practise the skills of vets and farmers on a realistic animal model.
Thank you to our alumni for your continued support.
