There’s a whole host of other ways to support our appeal too!
Why not challenge yourself to do a sky dive or to take part in a run or cycle to raise funds? See which events we have guaranteed places in on page ten or online at www.rvc.ac.uk/act.
You could organise your own fundraising events such as bake sales or quizzes in your local community - the ACT team are here to help you just call 01707 666237 or email act@rvc.ac.uk!
With so much to celebrate at the QMHA, we’d love for you to get involved and help the hospital continue to lead the way...
Support our QMHA
30th Birthday appeal
Join us in celebrating 30 years of life-saving care at the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals and help us to fund a cutting-edge CT scanner which will enable more pets to be diagnosed more quickly and started on essential treatment as soon as possible.
A CT scanner is essential to the QMHA team, who use it every day it to nd out what’s wrong with a sick animal and begin the right treatment fast. A new CT scanner will provide better speed, precision and detail meaning QMHA vets could diagnose many more animals even faster and much more accurately. With much greater detail from tiny organs such as cat and puppy hearts, they could also undertake more precise surgeries and treatments on younger patients needing help. In many cases
our vets will also be able to use sedation rather than general anaesthesia – this is vital in more vulnerable patients who either cannot be anaesthetised or for whom anaesthesia may be dangerous. The scanner would also enable pioneering clinical research, which will further veterinary medicine and save more animals in the future.
The QMHA 30th Birthday Paw Path gives you the special opportunity to honour your pets, past or present, with a short message on either a bronze, silver, gold or platinum Paw sticker displayed in the hospital. The Path travels around the QMHA, highlighting all the different departments that come together to give sick animals the best care and treatment. It is a reminder to us all that, with the support of people like you, we are there every step of the way, helping animals on their journey through the most dif cult times. As you can see from the picture below, the Path is already looking lovely with 300 Paws on the Path so far and over £22,000 raised for the scanner. Honour your pet on the Path today using the donation form enclosed or online at www.rvc.ac.uk/QMHA30.
