Important Client/Visitor Information

Clinical Service Delivery

From the 4th July we are relaxing the requirement for mask wearing inside the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals. However, if you are asked to wear a mask by someone who is clinically vulnerable, or in close contact with someone who is clinically vulnerable, we expect you to do so, there are masks available in reception.
Clients who prefer a telephone consultation in their car are still able to ask their clinician for this.
It is critical for us to be able to provide services to our patients and not to put our teams at risk and therefore we ask that our clients do not come for their appointment if they are ill, have any Covid-19 symptoms, or test positive for COVID-19 or if any member of the household has tested positive for Monkeypox virus.
If you are self-isolating and your pet requires treatment, please contact us on 01707 666399.
Our online information leaflet gives details about what to expect during your visit; what facilities are available (such as parking; toilets; WiFi access; catering).

Advice for referring vets

We might NOT be able to accept certain emergency/urgent referrals depending on our own staffing levels and capacity.
Please speak to our Emergency Referral Team if you have an emergency case.

Please advise your clients that they should NOT come to the hospital if they are self-isolating or have symptoms of COVID-19 or if any member of the household has tested positive for Monkeypox virus. Please contact the QMHA reception team for advice on your appointment, or seek an alternative party to bring your animal to us.
The clinical service delivery procedures defined above also apply to referral clients
