Anaesthesia Facilities

The anaesthesia team has extensive expertise in managing critically ill patients undergoing surgery or diagnostic tests requiring sedation. As well as managing anaesthesia during operations, they are experts in pain control and have all worked in veterinary practice.

Our specialists work across eight operating theatres and also alongside teams in endoscopy, radiography, MRI and CT, the isolation unit and ultrasound.  All types of patient breathing systems are available and the universal availability of sprirometry seldom found in a referral practice.

  • All areas are equipped with modern anaesthetic and monitoring equipment; 24 Datex S/5 monitors enable monitoring of invasive and non-invsive blood pressures, pulse oximetry, respiratory gases, side-stream spirometry and body temperature
  • Facilities for blood gas and electrolyte measurement are available on site
  • Ventilators include 10 SIMS/Pneupac VentiPac systems and we have a Manujet ventilator for bronchoscopy
  • Constant infusion devices include Asena TIVA, IVAC and Graseby syringe drivers and Asena infusion pumps
