Wheals

Wheals usually reflect localised mast cell degranulation within the skin. The term 'urticaria' is used to describe this disease presentation.

Causes include stings, venoms, insect bites, drug reactions, allergic reactions to foods and environmental allergens, and physical factors like pressure, cold and exercise.
