- Investment in a robust clinical laboratory microscope
is worthwhile
- Busy clinicians will always abuse the equipment and it
needs to be able to withstand rough use. Even so, if treated
with respect a good microscope will be a delight to use
- The microscope should be cleaned every day to remove paraffin
and immersion oil from the stage, condenser and objectives.
If oil or paraffin gets onto the dry objectives, attempt
to remove it without delay with lens tissues. Final cleaning
with tissues moistened with alcohol may be beneficial. Beware
of strong solvents, which may remove lens adhesive
- The microscope should be professionally serviced once
or twice a year to maintain good performance
