Healthy periodontium should be pink (non-inflamed), except
when pigmented, firmly attached to the underlying bone and
with a sharp margin where the soft tissues meet the tooth.
Radiographs should show good bone height to cemento-enamel
junction, no pockets and possibly an uninterrupted lamina
dura.
