Mrs Larissa Campos Aquino
Department: Clinical Science and Services
Campus: Hawkshead
Clinical Groups: Small Animal Internal Medicine
Larissa joined the CSC team at RVC in 2017 after working as a small animal internal medicine teaching fellow in Brazil. In the CSC, she is fully involved in the creation, development, and delivery of all Clinical Skills practical teaching and exams for BVetMed and nursing students. Larissa is interested in all aspects of small animals internal medicine and in the development of practical teaching methods in veterinary education.
I graduated as a veterinary doctor in Brazil, where I worked as a small animal practitioner after finishing a specialization in small animal internal medicine. After finishing my training, I concluded my master's degree research about clinical pathology findings and molecular methods to diagnose feline leukaemia virus. This qualification started my teaching career, first as a lecturer in physiology for veterinary undergraduate students and then a PhD research about the diagnosis and phylogeny of haemoplasmas in dogs and cats. In 2017, I started lecturing small animal internal medicine also for veterinary undergraduate students and then moved to the UK where I joined the CSC team at RVC in the same year.
I have been involved with research during my Masters (feline leukamia virus) and PhD (haemoplasmas in dogs and cats) degrees.
