Davainea proglottina

Gravid segments with numerous egg capsules, each containing one egg measuring 28 - 40 microns, are discharged with the faeces. The eggs are released following ingestion by the intermediate host, a gastropod mollusc, and so are unlikely to be found on faecal examination
