At the Royal Veterinary College, Bindi the puppy is brought in to Emergency and Critical Care with a severe brain injury. She’s been bitten on the head by a Labrador puncturing her skull and pushing tiny shards of bone into her brain. Surgeon Emma Davies must operate immediately to save her life and Bindi’s taken to theatre to undergo brain surgery…

Buddy the foal is rushed to the College for a blood transfusion to treat a rare condition which is destroying his red blood cells. His mother Maria travels with him to the Foal Intensive Care where both she and Buddy can be kept while he’s treated. Buddy begins to improve once foal specialist Kevin Corley has given him the transfusion. But then unexpectedly, Maria attacks and rejects him. Buddy is left an orphan foal and his recovery hangs in the balance…

43 year old Primrose the chimpanzee is one of Whipsnade Wild Animal Park’s senior citizens. She’s on medication for a heart condition, but the vets aren’t sure it’s working. Cardiologist Adrian Boswood from the Royal Vet College joins Zoo Vet Jonathan Cracknell to x-ray and ultrasound Primrose’s heart and see what’s happening inside…
