Penny gained her PhD in December 2011 in the Structure and Motion Laboratory.  Her work involved examining the musculoskeletal anatomy, kinematics and kinetics of the cheetah.

Penny's PhD was supervised by Alan Wilson and Sandra Corr (Notiingham Vet School), entitled “The structural and functional specialisation of locomotion in the cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus)”.
