I graduated in 2008 with a MSci in Palaeontology and Evolution from the University of Bristol. My project, supervised by Dr Emily Rayfield, looked into the possibilities of inferring mode of life in extinct species using Finite Element Analysis of extant bird and reptile claws. This has led to my interest in the field of biomechanics. I am currently doing a PhD, supervised by Dr Monica Daley and Dr John Hutchinson, on the effects of body size on limb posture and stability in unsteady locomotion, focussing on galliform birds.
