Dermatology is Important!

Dermatological cases represent approximately 25% of veterinary time in small animal practice.

With such a large number of cases is it important to

  • Optimise the diagnostic procedures you adopt and
  • Ensure that appropriate therapy is instituted as early as possible

Although empirical treatment will often give respite it rarely institutes a cure.  Often skin infection (pyoderma) or other complications subsequently occur.  Side effects to glucocorticoid treatment are a common complication.
