Keeping in touch with you really helps our students. This might be direct assistance such as work experience and careers advice, or indirect assistance through the RVC being able to advise current students of the career opportunities our alumni have pursued.
As you know, we are also a small charitable institution with only 8,000 living alumni who might be interested in supporting us. Without these offers of support (such as mentoring, provision of EMS and monetary donations), the RVC would have to dramatically scale back on our academic ambitions and interaction with alumni. We would be a lesser institution as a result.
We don't expect you to support us every time we ask, but we need the ability to be able to ask. We are proud to have you as one of our alumni and hope to remain in touch and relevant to you throughout your life. Please reconsider this preference.
