Unexpected accidents or emergencies can occur at any time but you can be assured that the Royal Veterinary College Equine Practice team is here when you need help.

We provide round the clock emergency care and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year for horses under our care.

You can contact the equine practice day or night on 01707 666297.

In normal office hours (8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday) your call will be answered by one of our experienced reception staff. Outside of office hours you will be redirected to the mobile phone of the vet on duty who will be happy to give advice over the phone or visit your horse at your yard for emergency treatment as necessary.

For some complex equine emergencies, your horse may be referred to the specialists at the RVC Equine Referral Hospital. The hospital is equipped with the latest surgical, diagnostic and critical care facilities including dedicated adult and neonatal Intensive Care Units, an isolation unit for horses with suspected contagious diseases, and a padded stable for horses with neurological conditions.
