Recycling
One way you can help support the Animal Care Trust is to be a part of our recycling scheme. Recycling is easy to do and great for the environment. We can turn any unwanted mobile phones, foreign currency, used inkjet and toner cartridges and used stamps into funds to support our work.
Please send all items for recycling to: Animal Care Trust, Hawkshead Lane, North Mymms, Hatfield, Herts, AL9 7TA.
Stamps
Last year we raised over £500 from recycling supporters’ used stamps. If you would like to help us by sending us your stamps, simply trim the stamps down so that there is only half a cm of envelope surrounding the stamp (this does not have to be perfectly neat).

John Howard is one of our most dedicated stamp recyclers. He has a collection box at the end of his drive and collects stamps from the local community for the Animal Care Trust. He is pictured here with one of the many bags of stamps that he regularly sends to us. We are so grateful for his support.
Please package your stamps and send them in to the address above. We like to thank our collectors so please remember to include a sender’s name and address. Please ensure the correct postage is paid as we are often charged a fee when postage is underpaid. Thank you!
Foreign Currency
It could be that you have spare foreign currency coins or notes, even the old pre-euro coins, lurking at the back of your drawer or bottom of your purse. ACT can turn them into a valuable resource to support our animal hospitals. So far in 2011 we have raised over £600 from unwanted foreign currency!
Please hunt out any foreign coins or notes (even those no longer in circulation) that you have to spare and send them to us at the above address.
Printer and Toner Cartridges
Did you know it takes up to 1000 years for a printer cartridge to decompose? You can help the environment and the ACT by recycling your used cartridges. Simply go to www.greenagenda.com for a list of approved cartridges and once you have collected 10 or more (in their original boxes) you can request a free courier collection (stating that they are for the benefit of the ACT). The ACT will receive all the funds raised from the recycle of your cartridges!
Why not arrange a cartridge collection at your workplace or school to raise even more money?
Mobile phones
The ACT can raise valuable funds from recyling unwanted mobile phones. Simply send them in to us at the above address and we will do the rest!
If you require any more information about any of our recycling schemes, please contact Dawn Sewell on 01707 666237 or dsewell@rvc.ac.uk.
