Odiham Hall

Odiham Hall comprises 30 single study bedrooms with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. Residents to provide own crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. Rooms are available on a self catering basis and the Hall includes a laundry and communal television room.

Odiham HallEach bedroom is equipped with contemporary furniture and soft furnishings. Residents are required to provide their own bedding, towels and toiletries. Internet access is available in each bedroom. Other facilities include a coin operated laundry room and an internal telephone in the foyer.

A lockable mail box is provided for each resident.

Support staff

The Hawkshead Campus has 24 hour security, support from the accommodation team, student resident co-ordinators and an on site maintenance team who will ensure any problems that may occur whilst in residence, are rectified as soon as possible.

Local area

The Hawkshead Campus covers approximately 600 acres and is set in beautiful Hertfordshire greenbelt countryside.  The Campus boasts a brand new restaurant, tennis courts, a student bar and a state of the art library.

Apart from the added bonus of Odiham Hall being on Campus, it is within walking distance of the local village, Brookmans Park and a couple of miles from the main town of Potters Bar with good access to shops, supermarkets, banks and public transport.  A free shuttle service is provided to students between the Hawkshead Campus and Potters Bar station (Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm). Timetable applies.

Should you wish to take in the sights and sounds of London, Kings Cross is an approximate 20 minute train journey from Potters Bar.

Fees (2011/2012)

The weekly rate is £100.00 (tariff reviewed on an annual basis).  This includes all utility bills i.e electricity and water but not the TV Licence.

Car parking is included but spaces are limited and cannot be guaranteed.

Aside from the TV Licence fee, the only other separate charge is a week’s deposit.

As there is a ‘no fixed term contract’ for Odiham Hall, short term lets are available, therefore, flexible around your placements subject to availability.

Who is eligible to apply for accommodation?

We hope to be able to offer a place in Odiham Hall to all Veterinary Nursing students that apply.  However, if the number of Veterinary Nursing students applying for Halls is greater than the number of places available, preference is given to overseas residents and applicants with home addresses some distance from the College.

How to apply

In late Spring, you will receive an accommodation pack which includes a Vet Nursing Accommodation Application Form (.doc). If you are successful in gaining a room in Odiham Hall, a confirmation letter will be sent approximately July time with further documents sent in August.
