College Grove

College Grove was built in 2001 and is situated on the RVC Camden Campus. It offers superb, modern self catering accommodation for 83 occupants in 12 maisonette style properties.

Each maisonette consists of seven single study bedrooms (one with disabled access) and a kitchen/dining room. Each bedroom has ensuite facilities and is equipped with contemporary furniture, soft furnishings and a personal mini fridge. Residents are required to provide their own bedding, towels and toiletries. Subject to a modest setting up charge, internet access is available in each bedroom.

Within the kitchen/dining room the College has supplied all the essential appliances necessary to utilise those culinary skills i.e cookers, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle etc. Basic crockery and cooking utensils are also provided. All this, along with a dining table and seating for seven, creates a fantastic social area.

All students are responsible for cooking their own food and cleaning within the maisonette.

A well equipped laundry room is situated immediately opposite the accommodation and there is an internal telephone in each block.

Support staff

College Grove has 24 hour security, support from the accommodation team, a resident volunteer student warden and an on site maintenance team who will ensure any problems you may incur whilst in residence, are rectified as soon as possible.

Camden amenities

Apart from the added bonus of College Grove being on Campus, it is within easy walking distance of Camden High Street with good access to shops, supermarkets, banks and public transport.

Camden is known for its avant garde fashion designers, cutting edge musicians, talented artists and craftsmen, exciting clubs and music venues but, above all, it is known for its markets. The area attracts more than 100,000 people every weekend who descend on the markets to browse and shop or just hang out, soak up the atmosphere and meet friends in the dozens of local bars and restaurants.

Fees (2011/2012)

The weekly rate is £134.00 (tariff reviewed on annual basis). This includes all utility bills i.e electricity and water.

The only other separate charge is a deposit of £643.20.  This is payable prior to taking up residency and refundable following a successful inspection

All tenancies are for a fixed term period of 48 weeks September to August.

Who is eligible to apply for accommodation?

We will endeavour to offer a place in Halls to all new students that apply. However, if the number of students applying for Halls is greater than the number of places available, preference is given to overseas residents and applicants with home addresses some distance from London.

College Grove places are not available to Veterinary Nursing students.

How to apply

In late Spring, the RVC Admissions Office send accommodation packs out to all new first year students which will include a College Grove application form. If you are successful in gaining a room a confirmation letter will be sent sometime during July.

Upon receipt of ‘A’ level results, we will process your application and forward tenancy documents.
