Stephanie is currently undertaking PhD study in the tendon biology group, researching ‘The role of prostanoids in the development and progression of equine tendon degeneration and as therapeutic targets’ an Industrial CASE Studentship funded by the BBSRC and CEVA.
Biography
Stephanie graduated with a degree in Veterinary Science from the Royal Veterinary College in 2003. After a short period as an equine locum in County Durham she completed an equine orthopaedic and diagnostic imaging Internship working with Dr Sue Dyson at the Animal Health Trust, Newmarket from 2003-2004. Four years in equine practice then followed based in Cheshire and Derbyshire where she pursued her interest in equine orthopaedics.
Stephanie returned to the Royal Veterinary College in 2008, working on a study investigating the treatment of equine tendon injuries with autologous bone marrow derived stem cells alongside Professor Roger Smith and Dr Jay Dudhia. She commenced PhD study in October 2008, researching the mechanisms involved in the development of equine tendinopathy.
