Sandra Corr

Sandra is a Senior Lecturer in small animal surgery and Head of Orthopaedics at the Royal Veterinary College. She is a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons.


Biography

Sandra Corr graduated from Glasgow University Veterinary School, and worked in small animal and equine practice in the UK for six years before taking a post as a lecturer in surgery at the University of Zimbabwe. She then completed a PhD at the Roslin Institute before doing a three year residency in orthopaedic surgery at Glasgow University. She joined the Surgery Department at the Royal Veterinary College in November 2002, becoming Head of Orthopaedics in 2007.

Research

Sandra’s research interests centre around gait analysis and the biomechanics of abnormal gait (pre and post-operatively), physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

Clinical

Sandra is interested in clinical orthopaedics; particularly fracture repair, joint surgery and arthroscopy. She enjoys developing advanced motion analysis techniques for the investigation of clinical problems and assessment of surgical outcomes. Most of all though, she loves working with big cats.
