Elvin Kulendra

 Elvin is a Staff Clinician in Surgery at the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals.


Biography

 

Elvin completed his undergraduate training at the Royal Veterinary College and subsequently completed a rotating small animal surgery and medicine internship at the same institution.  Following his internship Elvin worked as a veterinary assisstant in a small animal hospital as a general practioner for one year.  After this time Elvin returned to the Royal veterinary College to complete a small animal surgery residency at the Royal veterinary College.  Elvin completed his masters in 2011, investigating tarsal instabilty in cats.  During his residency he also completed his certificate in veterinary diagnostic imaging.  Elvin is currently a Staff Surgoen at the RVC and is eligible to sit the board certifying specialist examination of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS) this year.
 

Research

Elvin's research interest remain broad, but has been awarded a grant by Petsavers to investigate the efficacy of arthroscopy in the treatment of medial coronoid process disease in the dog.  

Teaching

Elvin is involved with the teaching of both orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery to final year clinical students on their clinical rotations. He has also lectured on nurse and veterinary CPD training and is actively involved in training and supervision of interns and residents on clinics.
