Cheryl Scudamore

Cheryl is Professor of Toxicologic Pathology at the Royal Veterinary College and is an RCVS Specialist in Veterinary Pathology. She is currently funded by an MRC Skills Gap award with the aim of increasing training opportunities in laboratory animal pathology and knowledge transfer of good pathology practices between industry.
Research
Cheryl is interested in supporting research through providing pathology advice for rodent models. She currently has a number of collaborations within the RVC, MRC Harwell, Sanger Institute, Babraham Institute and various research groups within the University of London.
Teaching
Cheryl is currently the director of the intercalated BSc in Comparative Pathology and Unit leader for Principles of Pathology on the BSc Biovetsciences course.
Cheryl has a strong interest in providing postgraduate training in laboratory animal and toxicological pathology which she does via the RVC's MVetMed programme and as the Chair of the education subcommittee of the British Society of Toxicological Pathologists. She is also interested in providing training for industry and is currently running an on-line CPD course in histotechnology.
Cheryl is keen to promote non-practice careers for veterinary graduates and regularly provides talks and careers advice in this area at the RVC and externally.
