Education Liaison

The Education Liaison team at the RVC frequently attend UCAS Fairs and visit schools and colleges to participate in HE and careers events. We also give presentations on applying to study veterinary medicine, science and nursing and the opportunities available in this exciting field.

If you are a teacher or careers advisor and would like us to visit your institution, please contact Chris Hobson (details below).

In addition, we also run an initiative called the Back to School scheme. Back to School gives our current RVC students the opportunity to visit their former schools or colleges to talk to students about the reality of applying to veterinary courses and their personal experiences of life at the RVC.

If you know of a former student who is currently studying with us at the RVC, please contact us to discuss the possibility of a visit.

The Education Liaison team is also working to develop science materials and programmes with schools. If you have an idea for possible collaboration, please get in touch.

Further Initiatives

Our Widening Participation Unit run a Student Shadowing scheme throughout the academic year. The scheme is designed for those who have had less exposure to Higher Education and would like to know more, and is aimed at pupils who attend non-selective, state maintained schools and/or have no family background of Higher Education. For full details see the Widening Participation Student Shadowing page.

Are you an A2 (Chemistry and Biology) or second year BTEC (Animal Management) student?

We want to find out all about you, how you like to learn, your course experiences and what you think about knowledge and intelligence.

This information will improve our admissions procedures and help us design degree courses for students just like you! Please email rcdavis@rvc.ac.uk for access to our online questionnaire.
