A Gift In Your Will
Please help us invest in the next generation of veterinary professionals by remembering the Royal Veterinary College in your will.
The RVC is renowned for training and educating tomorrows veterinary professionals who will work in a variety of professions and advance the care and treatment of animals the world over. Their work will build on your sound practice, your pioneering research and treatments, and your professional advice.
When you make or update your will, it's only right that you think of your loved ones first. After making provisions for your family and friends, please consider helping the College you were trained at. A gift in your will (often called a legacy) is a simple and enduring way to support our work. No gift is too small to make a difference and to help secure a brighter future for our students and the thousands of patients in our care.
We have benefited greatly over the years from the generosity of our clients, friends, former students and staff whose legacies will last for generations. Like them, you can help us to continue our vital work for years to come.
Download our free guide
The Royal Veterinary College has produced a useful guide about making a will. It will show you the importance of making or updating your will, explain some of the terminology that you may come across when doing this and includes frequently asked question. You can download a copy of our Legacy Information Pack and the latest
Inheritance Tax Laws, alternatively, contact Paula Goad on 01707 666039 or email pgoad@rvc.ac.uk and we will post you the information.
Deciding to leave a gift
Including the Royal Veterinary College in your will is a big decision to make and we thank you for your generosity and for thinking of us. The following forms may be of use to you if you are considering remembering us in your will.
Wording your Will
If you have decided to include the Royal Veterinary College in your will, we suggest that you or your solicitor use the wording found here in our wording your will information sheet. If you are unsure of which type of legacy applies to your needs then please download our free guide (above) and read the glossary of terms, which details the different types of gifts you can leave us.
Codicil Form
If you already have a will and would like to leave a gift to the Royal Veterinary College, the simplest way to make these changes is by completing a codicil form. A codicil is a supplement to an existing will and allows you to make changes without drawing up a new will. We recommend that you seek professional advice before completing this form as it may be better for you to have your will re-written, especially if you wish to make other changes at the same time.
