DESCRIPTION: A new or recent graduate veterinarian is required to join this expanding, high quality practice. The successful applicant will join a team of two veterinarians and eight nurses making this a three vet practice. The practice focuses on practising best medicine and it also has an interesting surgical case load. The position is full time with rotational weekends and on call. Back up and support is available from the experienced practice owner. Further education is encouraged and financially supported by the practice. The position will be varied and have an interesting and challenging caseload, and will provide both a balanced home life and a very professionally rewarding career. The practice owner has a special interest in canine reproduction. The clinic is PennHip accredited, and Clone Semen Preservation System Accredited. Training and certification in these areas can be provided if desired. The clinic is also AQIS accredited for the export preparation of companion animals. Equipment at this purpose built practice includes a modern ultrasound, a new x-ray suite with four-way floating table and digital x-ray, I-Stat blood diagnostics for critical care patients, rigid and flexible endoscopy, air powered dentistry, pulse oximetry, Baer hearing machine and humidicrib. It also has a fully equipped laboratory including Dri Chem, Heamalyte, and Immunoassay analysers. The surgery suite is fully equipped with excellent monitoring equipment, ECG, non-invasive blood pressure and roof mounted surgical lighting. The clinic is computerised with Cornerstone software. The clientele are friendly and supportive of the clinic's vision to provide excellence in patient care. They provide a workplace environment that is fun, relaxed and enjoyable with positive and efficient communication at all levels and it is a place where staff feel truly appreciated. The practice is situated on an eleven acre property owned by the practice owner. The intern will work under the direction of and be supervised by Diplomates and recognised specialists.
