Dermatology
The Dermatology Service offers referral services six days a week. Emergency cover and consultation for cases of other services are also provided. The Service mainly operates as an outpatient clinic but patients are hospitalised if appropriate.
Clients benefit from detailed consultations with immediate in-house testing. Emphasis is put on client education.
There is close cooperation with other services and individualised long-term management of chronic cases is carried
out in collaboration with the referring veterinary surgeons.
Particular interests include:
- chronic pruritus
- allergies
- recurrent pyoderma
- alopecia
- chronic or recurrent otitis
- autoimmune skin diseases
- disorders of keratinisation or pigmentation
- claw disease

Key Clinicians
David Lloyd
Professor Lloyd holds the Chair of Veterinary Dermatology at The Royal Veterinary College and leads a clinical and research group in small and large animal dermatology. He is also an RCVS Specialist in Veterinary Dermatology and a European Specialist in Veterinary Dermatology.
Ross Bond
Ross is a Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Dermatology at the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals (QMHA)
Ewan Ferguson
Ewan is currently a visiting Specialist in Dermatology at the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals (QMHA).
Anke Hendricks
Anke is a Veterinary Dermatologist involved in the clinical service provision at the Queen Mother Hospital. She also teaches, is involved in a variety of research projects and enjoys communicating her fascination with all things skin.
Anette Loeffler
Anette is a Lecturer in Veterinary Dermatology at the RVC and is involved in providing clinical dermatology services at the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals (QMHA). She is a diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Dermatology and holds the RCVS diploma in Veterinary Dermatology.
