Physiotherapy

Sue receiving stretches to her carpusA small animal out-patient referral service for physiotherapy is now available at the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals (QMHA) providing veterinary practices with an opportunity to improve outcomes for the patients under their care.

Initial consultation is a minimum of one hour, and includes a full physiotherapy assessment and immediate advice regarding treatment and rehabilitation of the animal. There is a strong emphasis put on owner education, and rehabilitation programmes are individually tailored for each animal and if specialised treatment is required, such as electrotherapy, joint or soft tissue mobilisations or manipulations, further sessions are arranged as necessary. Any areas of concern that become apparent during assessment or treatment will always be discussed with your own veterinary surgeon with the support of our specialist colleagues at the QMHA.
