Pet Facilities and Visiting

Accommodation

We have over 150 kennels available for patient accommodation during their stay and treatment. These are divided into Surgical, Medicine, Neurology, Soft Tissue, Special Treatment, Isolation and Cat Wards.

We have a dedicated Intensive Care Unit and a dedicated Iodine 131 Therapy Ward for treating cats with hyperthyroidism. Every pet is housed in an appropriate sized kennel. The Wards are centrally heated and all kennels have mattresses or soft bedding. Extra heated bedding is available for those that need it.

In-Patient Care

Once on the Ward, your pet will be placed in a kennel. Water will be available at all times, and your pet will be fed at regular intervals, specialised diets can be provided. If appropriate, your dog will be walked outside at regular intervals throughout the day to allow them to relieve themselves. At all times your pets best interest is our main concern. They are monitored at regular intervals and extra love and cuddles are always given.

The Hospital is manned 24 hours a day and so there is never a time when your animal is not being cared for. During the night we have a team of Nurses and Vets who continue the care.

Visiting

If you pet needs to stay with us for a long period of time, visiting is not a problem. All that we ask is that you arrange visiting times with the Vet or Nurse so that we can best accommodate you around busy Ward times or treatments.

Sometimes we ask you not to visit your pet as this can sometimes unsettle a recovering and unstable animal until they are stronger. At other times a visiting owner can promote a speedy recovery! We want you to spend quality time with your pet and so ask you to work with us to arrange suitable times.
