MSc Veterinary Epidimiology

BBSRC scholarships available for 2012/13!

We are pleased to announce that we have upto three BBSRC scholarships available for students undertaking the MSc in Veterinary Epidemiology in 2012/13. Students in receipt of these scholarships will have their fees paid for them and will receive a tax-free monthly stipend.

Overseas Student scholarship available 2012/13!

We are pleased to announce that the RVC will be offering a £4000 fees only scholarship to an overseas applicant to start in October 2012. These will be allocated on a highly competitive basis, for a full time place on the MSc Veterinary Epidemiology. Deadline for consideration of this award is the 30th April 2012 and overseas students wishing to be considered for this scholarship must have submitted a scholarship form (graduateschool@rvc.ac.uk) along with details of their online UK Pass application.

PhD Studentships

Home/EU Students

Fully funded PhD Studentships for UK/EU students are advertised every year in January on our website and on findaphd.com. Further scholarship places do become available throughout the year and our website should be checked regularly for more information.

Self-funded PhD Projects

PhD projects available for overseas applicants in receipt of scholarships from their government or other bodies, or from self-funded individuals able to support their studies

2011:Fees Bursary for Overseas Applicants

Bursaries of £5,000 are available on a competitive basis to applicants for PhD studentships in areas of strategic importance to RVC. Candidates will be selected for a bursary based on the information supplied in their postgraduate application form/curriculum vitae and at an interview, which can be held by telephone or video conference link.

Clinical Training Scholarships

The adverts for the recruitment of Junior Clinical Training Scholars and Senior Clinical Training Scholars usually occur in January every year and appear in the Veterinary Record and on our website. All Clinical Training Scholarships are fully-funded: fees are paid by the department and the scholarship attracts a tax-free stipend. Currently, this is £13,749 for a Junior Clinical Training Scholar and £14,902 rising to £16,222 for a Senior Clinical Training Scholar. Senior Scholars with a PhD attract a higher stipend.

International students

Your own Ministry of Education or Education Department may provide a scholarship scheme that supports study in the UK and your employer may offer scholarships for vocational studies.
British Council offices can advise on British scholarship schemes and provide information about living and studying in the UK

The UK government and other UK and EU organisations offer a number of scholarships to enable international students to study in the UK, some of which are listed below:

  • British Chevening Scholarships (www.chevening.com).
    Further information can also be obtained from the British Embassy, British High Commission or British Council (lwww.britishcouncil.org) office in your own country.
  • The Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) (www.acu.ac.uk) is open to citizens of most Commonwealth countries (other than the Commonwealth of Independent States) or British dependent territories. Email info@acu.ac.uk.

British Marshall Scholarships (www.marshallscholarship.org) are open to US citizens under the age of 26, who are graduates of US universities, to undertake study in any subject leading to a degree at a UK university.

Fulbright Scholarships (www.fulbright.co.uk) are open to US graduate students for study in the UK.

The London Foreign and Commonwealth Office (www.fco.gov.uk) offers a search facility to help you find the British Embassy, High Commission or Consulate in your home country, and visa information.

The UK Border Agency (www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/) provides information for people from outside Europe who want to study in the UK. It describes the requirements for each category, and explains how you can apply for a visa or permission to remain in the UK as a student.

International Education Financial Aid (www.iefa.org) provides information on additional sources of funding.

The British Council (www.britishcouncil.org) provides information on its diverse activities, including its overseas English Language teaching operations (IELTS). It also helps you to locate your nearest British Council Office.
