Research Programmes

The Royal Veterinary College focuses on two research programmes and organises its research-active academics and their postgraduate students into a variety of Units and Labs, led by a senior member of staff, within these programmes. The programmes are:

Infection and Immunity

Programme Coordinator: Dr Liam Good

Control of infectious diseases requires a multi-disciplinary approach to understand the pathogens, the host response to these organisms and the way infections behave in different populations of animals. Experts in all these disciplines work together under this theme to address questions of global importance affecting animal and human health

See Infection and Immunity for more information.

Lifestyle

Programme Coordinator: Professor Caroline Wheeler-Jones

The RVC has a long tradition of excellent biomedical research in areas of musculoskeletal, cardiovascular and reproductive biology. The health of these and other systems is impacted by lifestyle factors such as physical activity and diet. Genetic factors also influence the development of diseases with age.

See Lifestyle for more information.
