Doing a PhD is an exciting, challenging and rewarding experience and forms the foundation for your subsequent scientific career. We develop scientists who are capable of working across interdisciplinary teams and who can tackle problems of practical relevance to veterinary science.

Research at the RVC is of international quality. We train scientists to work in interdisciplinary teams capable of tackling problems of practical relevance to veterinary and biomedical science and offer the following study options:
- PhD: Three or four years full-time
- DVetMed: Three to five years part-time
- MRes: Full-time course for one year
RVC has around 30-35 new PhD students starting each year, 7 of whom have industry-sponsorship. PhD students are immersed in research across RVC and play an active role in College life
